Our value engineering process has been proven successful across a diverse range of projects. The expertise we have in these types of specialty contracting enables us to examine plans closely, finding new and better ways to accomplish your goals.

How Our Process Works

Our construction value engineering makes a difference right away. Our experts collaborate with your project team, examining the plans and other documents closely. Our value engineering process encompasses all aspects of your project and is broken down into three main elements:

  • Initial consultation: Our value engineers start by sitting down with you to discuss the scope of the work and identify any opportunities for efficiencies.
  • Detailed site analysis: From there, we take a close look at the jobsite to assess how site conditions may impact the overall success of your construction project.
  • Cost-benefit assessments: Once we have all the necessary information, we provide your project team with our recommendations for the most effective construction management. Whenever possible, we’ll recommend specific and alternative construction methods and/or materials to provide you with the clearest and most effective workflow.

We look for ways in which we can improve the techniques and materials being used to cut down on the expense and timeframe to make the job more efficient and reduce your construction cost. However, we also look for any missing elements or errors that may exist in your plans and resolve them immediately. This way, these issues don’t have an opportunity to cause delays and other headaches during construction.

Experiencing the Benefits

When we apply our value engineering solutions to your proposals, you can expect to receive many benefits. First and foremost, our value management and value engineering capabilities can reduce the overall cost of your work. By suggesting ideas that offer a better solution without negatively impacting the overall quality of the finished product, we can help you bring down the final price tag and offer a better value to your customers. We are proponents of lean construction principles, meaning we’re always looking for ways to eliminate wasteful and inefficient processes from a project. By removing any construction process that doesn’t contribute directly to the success of your project, our value analysis can improve your project in numerous ways. Our experience also helps us get the job done faster, through careful planning and greater efficiency. Because we find more effective ways to plan the work and get it done faster, we have the added benefit of making your jobsite safer, as well.

As an example of what makes us the ideal construction value engineering company to complement your capabilities, look no further than a job we took on for a hotel. The property was experiencing issues created by improperly placed fill material with a high moisture content. It had been placed on top of 3 feet of buried organic material that reached depths of 18 feet. This made the ground unsuitable for typical foundation construction.

The original solution called for caissons to support the foundation that would reach into the stable subgrade. Unfortunately, this also required the use of a non-conventional underground piping and construction process. This method was known to add an extensive amount of time to the schedule and require expensive construction and future maintenance procedures. However, our engineers were able to circumvent these problems by creating a soil stabilization process that re-used existing material without the need for complex and unconventional methods. This saved the project time and money, allowing it to be completed 10 days sooner and saving $125,000 by eliminating caissons from the budget.
